Off the Shelf – My Reading Life in Pictures
Off the Shelf displays book covers for most of my reading life. Although I occasionally DNF books, if they’re here, I read them. I admit it, I do tend to be lenient. On the other hand, I’ve started to lose my patience a lot more easily than I did in the past. Sometimes I write my thoughts about a particular book on my Reveries page. A finished book here doesn’t necessarily mean a recommended book.
The search function to the right or on the bottom of this page links out to Bookshop.org, an indie source for books. In addition, the book covers here do as well, whenever possible. Those links go to my storefront on the Bookshop.org website, and I receive a small commission if you purchase a book there.
As of the end of January 2025, Bookshop.org finally has ebooks. so I’m linking to those as I update this page, whenever possible. Make sure you have access to the Bookshop.org app before you buy. While in some cases publishers have allowed the books to be sold DRM-free so you can sideload them onto a device, this is not the case for all of the ebooks right now (this is true for Kindle and Nook, too, FYI). Please support indie!
Are any of these books “off the shelf” for you, too? If so, what did you think about them? Let me know in the comments section below.

This was nice to see. We have some overlaps with Jodi Picolt, Outlander, Harry Potter, Claire Keegan, The Girl Who Fell From The Sky,and now I have some new books to check out. Thank you.
I just read the first Harry Potter for the first time, if you can believe it. Have read Small Things Like These twice now (listened, love the audiobook) and will reread it every Christmas, I think. I LOVED The Girl Who Fell from the Sky. The audiobook is really great. What did you think about the change in direction in Wish You Were Here (without giving any spoilers)?
